I'm in the middle of my lunch break at work, and I'm working on different ways to sell data services and show value to people. When you are so used to texting your family, writing blog posts on your phone, uploading photos to Flickr and Facebook, and Qik or Kyte.tv vids, it takes a lot to look back and think about different ways that normobs (normal mobile phone users) can start getting into this comfortably.
In the course of my job, I find a majority of our customers don't understand the convienience of SMSing someone the "don't forget the milk" message instead of calling; don't understand that several companies, newspapers, etc. provide important text alerts that are sent the moment it happens, like traffic accidents and weather warnings; and don't understand that most information available on the go is really easy to use.
I am having a really hard time remembering how I was before I started working here.
Backup all media onto a MyBook, format, reinstall XP, run gobs of updates.
BLEH!
When a man feels tired and unable to function, it's the most frustrating thing in the world. It's even worse when you are diabetic and not in control of your body.
I've fallen off again. I don't think I've counted a carb in a month, plus I have a real hard time remembering to take my pills.
I am trying to keep up with everything, and I'm making a new plan.
I'm setting up my pillboxes for this week right now, along with alarms for my phone to take my pills. I am going back to testing my sugar at wakeup, and 2 hours after eating. These sugars are going to be posted to my Twitter account and my Jaiku acct.
What help I want is reminders from my online friends. Text me, Jaiku me, or Twitter me if you don't see any postings about pills, food, or sugar. It is so much easier to be accountable to others for this than for me to be accountable to myself because I don't cut myself a break.
